Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
x intercept = 2 means the point (2,0)
y intercept = -3 means the point (0,-3)
a line through them has slope = the difference in y coordinates divided by the corresponding difference in x coordinates, or "rise over run" m= slope = (-3-0)/(0-2) = -3/-2= 3/2 Plot the two points, connect them with a straight line, and it's upward sloping, so m>0
in slope intercept form the line's equation is
y=mx+b with m=3/2 and b =-3
y=(3/2)x -3
or if you want to eliminate fractions, multiply both sides by 2
2y=3x -6
check the answer: plug in the points
(2,0)
2(0) = 3(2)-6
0 = 0
(0,-3)
2(-3) = 3(0)-6
-6 = -6
