You have three capacitors of values 40 F, 10 F and 50 F. What would their equivalent capacitance (in F) be if they were connected in parallel with each other? Enter your answer as a number only, to one decimal place.

When capacitors are connected in parallel then equivalent capacitance is sum of all the values ( unlike resistors)

In this question C eq = C1 +C2 + C3 = 40 +10 +50 = 100.0 F

If in series the Formula will be

1/Ceq = 1/C1 +1/C2 + 1/C3

or Ceq = C1*C2*C3 / (C1*C2 + C2 * C3 + C1*C3)
