Set up a triangle as described in the problem and then, using trigonometry, solve for vy (the component of the velocity in the y-direction.
sin(θ) = opposite/hypotenuse
sin(50°) = vy/400
400sin(50°) = vy then just plug it into your calculator to get the answer. Make sur to use the proper number of significant figures in your answer.
