asked 06/25/21What would the point be
Suppose that the point P(3, - 4) is on the graph of a function f(x) . Determine the corresponding point on the graph of the given function.
y = 2f * (x - 7) + 2
1 Expert Answer
Zam, Given the transformations in y=2f(x-7)+2, we know that x moves right 7, so x becomes (x+7). The 2 in front of the f means that the function value, or y value, doubles, and the +2 at the end means the whole thing moves up two. So y becomes (2y+2).
From any (x,y), the transformation puts us at (x+7, 2y+2), so (3,-4) moves to (10, -6).
I hope that helps, and let me know if you still have a question!
Happy mathing!

What do you mean by corresponding point? Do you want the value of y when x = 3?06/25/21
