Maria throws a ball straight up with an initial velocity of 10 m/s. What is its velocity at the highest point? What is its acceleration at the highest point? Please explain your answer.

At the highest point velocity = 0 (the particle is instantaneously at rest)

acceleration is g m/s/s downwards (g = 9.81), because acceleration is constant at all points when the ball is in flight as acceleration due to gravity doesn't change over a distance small relative to the radius of the Earth
