What is the plane's velocity relative to the ground?

The pilot of a light plane heads due north at an air speed of 400 km/h. A wind is blowing from the west at 60 km/h.

What is the plane's velocity relative to the ground?

How far off course would the plane be after 2.5 hours, if the pilot had hoped to travel due north but had forgotten to check the wind velocity?

hi a- first draw two perpendicular Victor's one is north ( up ) 8cm, other west ( left ) about1.2 cm. complete the rectangle and draw the resultant vector R . find the value of R from R = sq root of ( 400^2 +60^2 ) theta =arctan(400/60) northwest b- multiply R value by 2.5 and add the direction of R to the answer.
