For a spring mass system
F = -KX
where F=force, K = spring constant , X = displacement
F= mass * acceleration
mass* acceleration = - K*X
Acceleration = -K*X/Mass
If mass is 3 times , acceleration becomes one third for given displacement
So acceleration will be on1/3
