1. If the mass is tripled in a mass spring system undergoing simple harmonic motion then what is the magnitude of the acceleration of the system at any position?  Please explain in your own words and use the correct equations to justify your answer.

For a spring mass system

F = -KX

where F=force, K = spring constant , X = displacement

F= mass * acceleration

mass* acceleration = - K*X

Acceleration = -K*X/Mass

If mass is 3 times , acceleration becomes one third for given displacement

So acceleration will be on1/3
