Explain Woolf’s concept of time in Mrs Dalloway.

Mrs. Dalloway details a single day in the life of Clarissa Dalloway. As she prepares to host a party in the evening, things remind her of the past taking the reader through flashbacks. However Big Ben still chimes out the hours in the present forcing the both Mrs. Dalloway and the reader to face the passage of time and the eventuality of the end. Clarissa, Septimus, and Peter have to look back on their lives as they have aged and have to come to grips with just how long it has been since their youths.
