French verbs are grouped and classified in 4 ways.
1- Verbs classified according their conjugation.
1a. ➢ Group 1 (6000 verbs - regular verbs- invariable radical) : chanter, parler, etc.
Verbs whose infinitive ends in -ER except ALLER.
1b. ➢ Group 2 ( 300 verbs regular verbs- regular verbs) : finir, bondir, grossir, etc.
1c. ➢ Group 3 : (irregular verbs)
➢ subgroup -ir : partir, servir, fuir, etc.
➢ subgroup -oir : savoir, apercevoir, devoir, etc.
➢subgroup -re : écrire, dire, prendre, etc.
➢ subgroup -aller.
