The index of refraction of corn oil is 1.47. What is the speed of light in corn oil. (speed of light in vacuum is 3 X 10^9 m/s)

The index of refraction n is the ratio of speed of light in vacuum to speed of light in a medium, n = c/v.

>> Note correction: c has an exponent of 8, not 9 <<.

Speed of light in corn oil is then v = (3 x 108 m/s) / 1.47 = 2.04 x 108 m/s.
