A man throws a ball at an upward angle of 70 ̊ and tries to catch it 30 meters from where he was, and at the same level as when it was thrown. If he runs 1 second after throwing the ball, at what uniform speed must he go?

Range = v² sin (2θ)/g and time of flight = 2v sin θ / g

θ = 70 degrees

Range = 30 m

So find v using the range

Then find time of flight

As he runs 1 s after throwing the ball, if the time of flight is T, he runs for T-1 s

So his uniform speed = (30 / (T-1)) m/s
