To answer this question we have to use the equation KE=1/2mv^2
KE stands for the kinetic energy, m stands for the mass of the object, and v stands for the velocity of the object. One key thing to remember is units; mass should be in kg and velocity should be m/s. The question gives us the units we need, so we do not have to convert anything. The question also gives us each variable (mass and velocity) so we can simply plug in our values into the equation comfortably. (Joules is the unit for KE in this circumstance).
KE=1/2(90)(2)^2= 180 Joules
