That is a tough bind to be in to be sure! I hope it is not giving you too much trouble at present, or long-term.
When it comes to process of elimination to determine correct multiple-choice answers to questions involving certain amounts of lines included in reading passages like those you describe on the SAT, sometimes you have to either choose the answer of the two remaining options that you have narrowed things down to which you think better suits the content/main idea of the passage in question--in terms of both answers being relevant, but one sounding more correct in your mind. In other words, if both final answers are probable, choose the one that you think works better contextually.
