Momentum for a moving object is simply defined as the mass times the velocity, or m*v
So, the initial momentum is 1 kg * 2 m/s = 2 kg*m/s
The final momentum is 1 kg * 5 m/s = 5 kg*m/s
Therefore, the change in the object's momentum is 3 kg*m/s, because that is how much the momentum increases between the two times. I hope this helps!
