y=(x-3)(x+1)(x^2+4) if 2i is a zero, so is its conjugate -2i, change the zeros' sign and stick an x in front of it to create the factors. then multiply the factors together
y = (x^2-2x -3)(x^2+4) = x^4 -2x^3 +x^2 -8x -12
