The easiest way to see this is to graph it...although the answer is obvious algebraically too.

r= 2+.5sqrt(2)

and theta = 3pi/4 7pi/4

Can you explain the process to solve for the r (where you got 2 + .5sqrt(2)) ?

Yeah, I made a mistake!! Plug 3pi/4 into r=2+sin(theta)...to get 2-.5sqrt(2).
