When factoring a polynomial into two binomials, we are using the FOIL method.
The factors will be in the general form (p + q) (p + r).
q and r are the numbers that we need to find.
When q and r are multiplied together, it gives you the product of the last term of the polynomial.
When q and r are added together, it gives you the sum of the middle term of the polynomial.
The first terms will be factored as (13p + q)(p + r)
We pick numbers q and r that will satisfy all terms of the polynomial.
The only factors of 5 are 1 and 5.
So the factor will be (13p - 5)(p + 1)
