" Footnote To Youth" by Jose Garcia Villa illustrates how dynamic the relationship is between men and women. In the beginning of their relationship Dodong and Teang are captivated by a longing that alters their perceptions of reality and results in an emotional decision based upon desire and not on reason. As they encounter the responsibilitie of family life, although they maintain their love for and trust in one another, they experience a complete transformation of their life together. They are overwhelmed by responsibility, an awareness of helplessness, and even a sense of regret.
