Footer not appearing in powerpoint

Question

I have tried a lot of times to apply footer for my Powerpoint slides. I even tried to use slide Master to apply the footer but the footer only appears in Slide Master but not the powerpoint slides.

I am using Mac so the version is slightly different. So how do I solve it?

This usually happens because the footer is not applied to all slides or the layout doesn’t support it.

Go to Insert > Header & Footer, tick Footer, add text, then click Apply to All.

If it still doesn’t show, go to View > Slide Master and check each layout. Make sure the footer box is visible and not hidden or moved off slide.

Also check your slide layout. Some layouts don’t show footers, so switch to a basic layout like Title and Content.

Did you make sure that you selected the oversized thumbnail when inserting the footer in your Slide Master? This is the thumbnail that sits at the very top and is the Slide Master creator.

PowerPoint defaults to the Title Slide Layout thumbnail when you first go into the Slide Master View, not the Slide Master itself - you have to go to the very top of the thumbnail section and choose that oversized thumbnail, which is the Slide Master creator itself.

(Sort of like choosing a parking space; putting your car into reverse; then begin working on the details.)
