Digital data is stored in "ones and zeroes". The "thought process" of a computer, which stores and processes digital data, is quite simplistic: everything is either on or off, yes or no, black or white, one or zero, true or false. In the field, viewed from a plane, parts are either cultivated (1) or uncultivated (0). Thus, one could compare digital data to a field in which crops are grown.

asked 04/20/15how can a ploughed field be compared to digital data?
i read a story about a man who went on to develop digital technology was inspired by looking at a ploughed field from a plane. Can you explain the link between the two further and do you know who that man was?
