By the Factor Theorem, x - c is a factor of a polynomial function f(x) only when f(c) = 0.
f(x) = x2 + 2x - 4
f(2) = 4 + 4 - 4 ≠ 0. So, by the Factor Theorem, x - 2 is not a factor of f(x).
