Physics Teaching is my EXPERTISE with assured improvement
An object acted on by a constant force F moves from point 1 to point 2 and back again. The work done by the force F in this round trip is 95 J.
Can you determine from this information if F is a conservative or nonconservative force?
a) YES/NO: Non Conservative
b) EXPLANATION: In conservative case work done in round trip is zero
If I grab a baseball and throw it in the air straight up as high as possible with an initial speed of 89-mph and travels upward to 12 meters above my head (NO AIR RESISTANCE).
a.) What speed will it land back in my hand?
ANS: Yes
WHY:Gravitational force is Conservative force
b.) How much work did the ball do?
ANS: Net work done is zero in round trip
WHY: Its a case of conservative force.
