Question

Mon wants to make 5 lbs of the sugar syrup. How much water and how much sugar does he need to make 25%, 75% and 1.5% syrup?

5 lbs of sugar syrup as the end product

4x5 = 4 lbs of water and 1 lb of sugar would make 5 pounds of 25% syrup

for 75% syrup 4 lbs of sugar and 1 lb of water

for 1.5% syrup 98.5% of 5 lbs water and 1.5% of 5 lbs sugar = .075 lbs sugar and 4.925 lbs water
