An easy way is to consider the skier's average speed as (5.8 + 0)/2 = 2.9 and then traveling at an average of 2.9 m/s for 3.5 s gives 2.9•3.5 = 10.15 meters
Another way is to use the acceleration you calculated (should have been a = 1.65714 m/s2) and use the kinematics equation x = vit + 1/2at2
x = (0)(3.5) + 1/2(1.65714)(3.52) = 10.15 meters as well
Of course you should report your answer with 2 significant figures.
