Socialism is when the means of production are collectively owned, meaning they are shared with the people and the government (the state). Socialist countries do not have private companies (no "free market"). The state controls output and prices for the market, and profits are distributed to the workers and other public services. The company still receives a portion of the profits after this distribution.
Wyzant is capitalist. They are a private company. The profits they make still go directly to them; they take directly from the worker. However, Wyzant is less of a company and more of a platform or service. What they make probably goes to maintenance costs. The workers are legally independent and do not report Wyzant as an employer on their taxes. This is not necessarily socialist, because their profits are still theirs and not shared with the government. That is why I would call it "independent" instead.
