Some believe Thanksgiving to be a symbolic holiday of a time of peace/ prosperity between Native Americans and European new-comers. The holiday is celebrated with plenty of food and family to symbolize the agricultural abundance and the "union of the two worlds" to end a time of hardship for new European settlers.
Although, peace did not last throughout the Americas as more settlers arrived in the 1600s. For this reason, some leaders, scholars, and teachers believe Thanksgiving is "single-sided," meaning, it celebrates prosperity only for European settlers.
I would urge you to look at historical texts online and seek information on your own. (Also, peer reviewed journal articles are much more reliable than social media.) As a teacher, it is only my job to teach a student how to think, never what to think. Good luck!
