This problem makes use of the equation F = ma where F is the applied force, m is the mass, and a is the acceleration.
A. Solve F=ma for m. This gives m = F/a = 3 N / 2 ms-1 = 1.5 kg.
B. a = F / m = 4 N / 1.5 kg = 2.7 ms-1
C. V = at = 2.7 ms-1 x 2s = 5.4 m/s and V = 2.7 ms-1 x 6 s = 16.2 m/s
