Remember that refraction is when light waves bend at angles when they pass through different mediums. As the refraction of the second medium increases, the angle of refraction becomes more bent. The angle of refraction is the angle between the light wave and the normal. The normal is the line perpendicular to the surface of the medium. Also, every medium has an index of refraction. The greater the index, the smaller the angle. This indicates increase of refraction.
