4. Explain how public trust of the federal government as shown in the line graph demonstrates a modern reflection of the debates about ratifying the Constitution.

1.     77%

2.     From 1958 to 2015 the level of trust decreased from 77% to 19% overall. However, this was not linear, trust decreased to 17%, then increased to 60%, then declined once more to 19%. 

3.     The graph would indicate that trust is likely to continue to fall in the future. 

4.     Political turmoil caused by the debate over ratifying the constitution decreased trust in the government. Modern political conflicts could have the same effect.
