By symmetry the time taken for upward motion is same as for downward motion

time for upward flight = 2.5 sec ( 5 Sec /2)

Vf = 0

using Vf - Vi = acceleration *time

Vi = gt = 9.8 *2.5

=24.50 m/s

Vi ² = 2gh

h( max )= Vi² /2g

= 24.5 *24.5/ 2*9.8 = 30.63 m
