A bale of hay in the shape of a rectangular prism has a length of 4 feet, a width of 2 feet, and a height of 2 feet. A cylindrical bale of hay has a diameter of 5 feet and a height of 6 feet. How many rectangular bales contain the same amount of hay as one cylindrical bale? Round your answer to the nearest tenth.

rectangular prison with sides 4x2x2 has volume = 16 ft^3
cylindrical with diameter =5 and height = 6 has volume = pi(d/2)h = pi(2.5)6 = 15pi = about 15(3.14) = about 47.124 ft^3
27.124/16 = about 2.945 rectangular have the same volume as the cylindrical bale
= almost 3 rectangular bales = 1 cylindrical bale volume
= 2.9 rounded to nearest tenth
