If a 1.5kg weight is hung from the 0cm mark at one end of a meter stick that weighs 1kg, where should you put your finger to balance the stick?

Since center of mass of meter stick is at 50 cm mark, let X be the distance from 0 cm mark where balanced & 50 − X be distance from 50 cm mark, so

1.5X = 1(50−X), 2.5X = 50, X = 50/2.5 = 20, so balanced at 20 cm mark
