3 roads, A, B, and C. B is 3 times longer than A. C is three as long as B. Draw the roads. What fraction of the total length of the roads is the length of A?
If Road B is 10 miles longer than Road A, what is the length of Road C?

Math and science made easy - learn from a retired engineer
So the total length is:
So A is 1/27 the total length.
If A + 10 = B and 3A = B then 3A = A + 10
3A = A + 10
2A = 10
A = 5
B = 15
C = 45

Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
B=3A
C=3B = 3(3A) = 9A
A+B+C = A + 3A + 9A = 13A
A = (1/13) of the total of all 3 roads
B=10+A = 3A
2A =10
A = 5
C =9A = 45
