What government does Ireland have present day?

Some websites have said parliamentary democracy, others have said a parliamentary representative democratic Republic. Is there a difference between the two? Thank you.

The difference between these two answers is just that the second description is more specific. Often we say that the United States is a "democracy" when in fact it is a representative (elected officials represent masses) democratic(masses elect officials) republic (not a monarchy). Representative democracy is just one of a few different types of democracy. SO, in short, both answers are correct, the second is just more specific, and the first is the more common way to refer to their type of government.
