It's the year 2467 and you pilot your spaceship to a moon where the acceleration at the surface due to gravity has a magnitude of 2.75 m/s². You have a penchant for antique pendulum clocks. If your clock runs on a simple pendulum, how long must it be so that it correctly ticks off each second?

Time period of a simple pendulum to click 1 sec on Earth is 2 sec

T = 2pi√l/g

where g= 9.8

2 = 2pi √l/9.8

T^' = 2pi √l/ 2.75

Her T' = time period of pendulum of moon

T' = 2 √9.8/2.75 = 3.775

half of that is equivalent to 1 second on earth

Duration of 1 sec on moon = 3.775/2 = 1.888 sec approx
