When dividing with decimals, you want the divisor (0.8) to be a whole number and the dividend (6.88) doesn't have to be a whole number.
To change the divisor to a whole number, multiple 0.8 by 10 = 8
If you multiple the divisor by any number, you must do thesame to the dividend, 6.88 x 10 = 68.8
So now you can divide 68.8 ÷ 8 = 68.8 ⁄ 8 = 8.6
