(4+x)/(19+x) = 3/8
cross multiply
32 + 8x = 57 + 3x
5x = 57-32 = 25
x = 25/5 = 5
add 5 to both numerator and denominator and the result = 3/8
(4+5)/(19+5) = 9/24 = 3/8
