This is an interesting question because we don't have enough information to answer it accurately, which explains part (C), so let's start there. Let's assume that in Canada, and in Quebec, there are an equal number of males and females. We don't really know if this is true, but it is close to accurate. If that is true, then the number of females in Quebec will be the same fraction as the number of people in Quebec. So the answer to (A) is also 1/4. To answer (B) we have to convert the fraction 1/4 to a decimal. You can do this using a calculator or by long division. Either way, the answer is 0.25.
Remember, we are assuming that people are made up of an equal number of males and femaies!
