asked 10/22/20plane travel 45 m/s drops a package from a height of 110 m. aceleration of grav is 9.8 m/s. Where does pckage strike the ground relative to the point directly below where it was released? units of m.

First, we assume no air resistance and that the plane is flying straight horizontal. When the package is released it has the same 45 m/s horizontal speed as the plane. Now we can find out how long it takes to fall 110 m because its horizontal speed does not affect the time of the fall in any way. height = 1/2gt2 so 110 m = 1/2(9.8 m/s/s)t2 and solve for t. t = sqrt (110/4.9) = 4.74 seconds.
During that 4.74 seconds, the package was moving sideways (horizontally) at 45 m/s. v = d/t and solve for d. d = (45 m/s)(4.74 s) = 213 m.
