hi tutor,
My daughter is in 3 grade. She has 2 math problems i am not quite understand what is the question asking. Please explain and tell us the answer?
Question #1:
Dom is tilling a countertop. Each unit square is 1 square foot. The blue squares are completed. How many more square feet of countertop has Dom NOT completed, compared to what he has completed?
A. 12 square feet
B. 20 square feet
C. 32 square feet
D. 8 square feet
Questions:
Dawn draws a picture that is 12 square inches. She draws another picture that us 12 square centimeters. Which picture is larger? Use centimete and inche square paper to solve the problem. Explain how you solved the proble.

Uncompleted area = 20 square feet.
12 square inches is larger. For example, suppose you had a paper 3 x 4 inches = 12 square inches. One inch = 2.54 centimeters. ( 2.54 x 3) x (2.54 x 4) = 7.62 x 10.16 = 77.4192 cubic centimeters. The square inch paper is over 6 times as large as the square centimeter paper!
Next you had a paper 3 x4 centimeters = 12 square centimeters.
