Question

Marco is buying hamburger meat for a party. He will use 1/4 pounds of meat for each hamburger he makes, ande there will be 24 people at the party. How many pounds of meat does Marco need to make 2 hamburger for each person at the party?

Hi Jose,

We can look at this equation in the following way:

(# of people) * (# of hamburgers per person) * (amount of meat per hamburger)

So we have 24 people * (2 hamburgers/person) * (1/4 lb. per hamburger) = (24*2) / 4 = 48/4 = 12 lbs. of hamburger.
