Hi Jose,
We can look at this equation in the following way:
(# of people) * (# of hamburgers per person) * (amount of meat per hamburger)
So we have 24 people * (2 hamburgers/person) * (1/4 lb. per hamburger) = (24*2) / 4 = 48/4 = 12 lbs. of hamburger.
Please let me know if you'd like me to show you how to cancel out the labels (it's harder by typing it out, but I could write it out as well to explain it). It's a really useful concept for converting any number of things!
