The examples of modern impacts of physics are:
(i) MRI - magnetic resonance imaging - was invented in 1980s. MRI became the major medical early diagnostic technique that saved lives of millions of cancer patients.
(ii) Integrated circuits (silicon chips) were developed due to success in semiconductor physics. They become a key component of all the modern electronics. Among many global impacts are modern computers, cell phones and navigation systems.
(iii) Optical fibers and cables allowed the broadband communications and resulted in Internet connection at almost every home.
