Physics Teaching is my EXPERTISE with assured improvement
If you hike up a mountain to a height of 381 m above where you started and take 389 minutes to do so, what is your power output? Assume you start and end at rest and don't forget to convert to standard units.
Power = Rate of doing work
In this case work done = change in potential energy = m*g*h
M= mass of person
g= 9.81 m/s2
h= 381 m
time = 389 min = 389*60 sec = 23340 sec
Power = m*9.81* 381/23340 J/s or Watt
I am assuming that value of g does not change much through height of 381 m
We need to know mass of person climbing
