Average speed is the ratio between Total Distance Traveled and Total Time Traveled.
One way you can solve this problem is by thinking in terms of proportions:
50 km / 1 hour = 75 km / ? hours
By cross-multiplying and dividing, you can determine how many hours the trip takes.
Without giving away the answer, you should get more than one hour :-)
A second approach is to use the equation:
Average Speed = Distance Traveled / Time
With some algebraic manipulation, you can derive:
Time = Distance Traveled / Average Speed
Hope that helps!
