i have these numbers 32 blue shirts, 56 white shirts,14 gray shirts ,8 orange shirts ,50 black shirts   The fundraiser is extended another week. If another 18 white shirts are sold, then estimate how many more blue shirts were sold

The idea is that during the extra week, it's reasonable to guess that the shirts were sold in the same proportion as before.  So you can ESTIMATE the number of blue shirts based on the number of white shirts.

 

An additional 18 white shirts were sold compared to 56 before the extension.  That's around 32% more.

 

So figure that approximately the same percentage of additional blue shirts will be sold.  32 blue shirts were sold before, and 32% of 32 is approximately 10.  So you can estimate that 10 more blue shirts were sold.
