You're given:

3x-2y=2

x=3y-11

 

You substitute the x in the first equation with the x value of the second equation.  Thus, you get

3(3y-11)-2y=2

 

You now simplify the equation.

9y-33-2y=2

7y-33=2

7y=35

y=5

 

Now you substitute the y value in either equation to get the value of x.  I'll use the second equation.

x=3(5)-11

Again, simplify

x=15-11

x=4
