A quadrilateral is just a four sided figure. That's all.
A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with two opposite sides parallel, and two opposite sides not paralle.
A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with both pairs of opposite sides parallel.
The reaming three are special parallelograms:
a rectangle is a parallelogram with a right angle (thus all four are right angles)
a square is a rectangle with four equal sides
a rhombus is a parallelogram with four equal sides (no right angles)
