Convex mirrors reduce the image allowing you to see more of the world in the mirror: Side-view mirrors, in corners of convenience stores, and at the side of hidden driveways to see cars or pedestrians on cross street.
Concave mirrors are used in telescopes to project real images onto screens, make-up mirror for magnification.
