What is the average induced emf in the coil?

A fixed 18.0-cm-diameter wire coil is perpendicular to a magnetic field 0.60 T pointing up. In 0.12 s , the field is changed to 0.29 T pointing down

Rajai A.

Hi Sir I think that the area vector is parallel to the magnetic field ,the area vector is a vector perpendicular to the surface .So the magnetic flux will be A.B cos 0, then ABcos180.then we find the change in the magnetic flux and divide it by time to calculate ( emf) .

Student, is this question worded correctly? Maybe you meant to say the cross sectional area of the coil is perpendicular to the field? As worded, there is no magnetic flux through the coil, and therefore no emf is induced by the time changing magnetic field.
