A uniform magnetic field is in the positive z direction. A positively charged particle is
moving in the positive x direction through the field. The net force on the particle can be made
zero by applying an electric field in what direction?
Hello Dorsa,
The Lorentz force due to magnetic field as per left hand rule will be in the -ve y direction
Force ( -ve y) = qvB
To counter this force Electric field must act in the opposite direction ( +ve y )
This force will be F( +ve y) = qE
and qE = qvB
Hope it works for you !
